It is a pleasure to write on behalf of Andreas Hartmann.  He is a quality pianist, who has shown himself to be strong both artistically and academically during his time at Indiana University.  As a doctoral student, he has participated extensively in the musical life of the School, with performances both as a soloist and in a chamber setting.

In addition, he served as an Associate Instructor for the piano department, a merit appointment offered only to our strongest pianists.  He was responsible for teaching class and private piano students, and did so with distinction.  He has also been actively involved for some years as a teacher in our Pre-College piano Program, and has distinguished himself there also.

Andreas brings strength in many areas to every pursuit.  His inquiring mind, his eclecticism, and his sense of artistry will equip him well in his future musical career.  I am sure that he will distinguish himself in the future as a member of a piano faculty, and I am delighted to have the opportunity to recommend him.
